Poor Pippi
Nov. 5th, 2011 10:26 amPip has recently found himself a fun new pastime. Except it's not a lot of fun for his mummy, especially when she's trying to sleep.
Silly boy got himself caught in the blinds on my window a while back when he got all excited about seeing a raccoon and the blinds got all screwy. I can no longer open them and there is a permanent gap in them. I don't have a camera so I can't show you but they're all wonky and the sringy thing (so articulate these days) that's threading them together is exposed. It is this string that has captured Pip's imagination and he's taken to chewing on it, which makes the blinds go "CLACK!!! CLACK!! CLACK!!! CLACK!!!!!
Pip enjoys this activity most late late at night when I'm trying desperately to get some shut-eye. At first I gave him two warnings before I put him in his crate (which I haven't had to do very often since he was a wee kitten). But then I realized that trying to break this habit could take months I just got up in a sleep-deprived fit of ingenuity and wrapped some sticky tape around the string, making it unappealing to kitty cats. It worked.
Poor little guy is sitting in the window looking all forlorn. I feel like Mommy Dearest but at least I feel fairly rested. Still, I must find him a new activity, ideally one that involves minimal noise.
