Geeking and Gleeking out
Aug. 26th, 2011 03:59 pmThere's nothing like catching a movie by yourself in the middle of the afternoon. Even if it is to the tune of $16.50.
If it wasn't Glee in 3D I'd never pay that much for a movie. It's the outrageous prices that have kept me out of the theaters these past few years. This year I've been to the theater three times (for The King's Speech, Deathly Hallows Part 2 and Glee) and twice someone else was treating me.
As I have no fellow Gleeks in this city I went alone, but at least I didn't have to explain anything to some poor friend I dragged along. I saw the live show in June but it was hard to see anything from where I was sitting and this movie filled in some of the holes.
Along with the live show the movie profiled a handfull of young people who have overcome adversity and triumphed and who owe a lot to Glee and its teachings.
I wish it had been on the air when I was young. But at least I'm not so old that the magic is lost on me.
I'm a sap, I know.

Sadly, neither Tom Felton or Eliza Dushku were present yesterday at Fan Expo but maybe that's for the best as I'm on a tight budget and signed photos ain't free. I did get a very cute monkey shirt from Sick on Sin (http://www.sickonsin.com/item.php?item_id=371&category_id=9) and Danielle gave me a free hoodie from her company Antimatter, who does very well with science geeks with a sense of humor(http://www.antimatter-online.ca/Theobromine_Hoodie.php).
In short, the rest of the weekend is going to have to work hard to compete with the past couple of days.
I really am a sap.
